Only two days ago, I mentioned a few accidents we’ve had a long the way—worst of all, Bernd who had to fly back home for professional treatment.
Three new teeth had to be implanted, and his broken gum is still healing, but guess what—Bernd is back! He will be cycling with us again from Khartoum onwards. Welcome back Bernd!
Bernd has displayed tremendous strength of character and taught us all a very important lesson: Never give up!
Stage: Rest Day in Khartoum
Group highlight:
Dinner at the house of Ed from the Canadian embassy in Khartoum. TDA Global Cycling is a Canadian company, hence the connection. Thank you Ed for a wonderful evening!!!
And not only great food and hospitality it was—great company as Ed had also invited expats living in Khartoum and local friends alike, great local coffee made for us by a charming lady, and an amazing performance of local instruments, singing and dancing (videos to come).
Personal highlight:
Taking it easy all morning, followed by a stroll to the White/Blue Nile confluence with Liz. We couldn’t discern the colors though—looked all brownish to us.
Nice to follow your struggles ! bettter weather than here in a grey winter.
Soon you will. Impressive blogging !!
Martin
Thank you Martin!
..sorry..
Soon you will reach greener areas..
